Kim Landry, founder and president of Hollister Creative, is among the 34 business owners who graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program in April.
“The program taught us a process to assess the feasibility of any business growth idea, and gave us hands-on experience using that process to select a feasible growth opportunity for our own businesses,” Landry said. “As a result, Hollister Creative has a new Managed MarCom Services™ offering and we launched a new website to align with that opportunity before the program even ended.”
Landry is in the sixth cohort to complete the program in Philadelphia, which is one of 18 cities nationwide where 10,000 Small Businesses is offered.
Business owners in the program spent 14 weeks – roughly 100 class hours – at the Community College of Philadelphia actively engaged in an entrepreneurial business curriculum designed by Babson College and delivered by the community college faculty.
The curriculum covered all elements of running one’s business, from money and metrics to marketing and sales. The program also included one-on-one business advising, accounting workshops and advice from top law firms and Goldman Sachs professionals.
Applications for 10,000 Small Businesses are accepted on a rolling basis at Community College of Philadelphia. June 8, 2015 is the deadline to apply for the next cohort. The program is open to business owners from across the Greater Philadelphia region. Applications may be downloaded at www.ccp.edu/10KSB.
