Hollister Creative President Kim Landry will kick off the Urban League’s 2017 Empowerment Week on Monday, June 5, with an informative workshop on stomping the competition, called “Bigfoot Will Be Found: Why and How to Have a Monstrous Digital Footprint.”
Co-sponsored by the Wharton Small Business Development Center and the Asian Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia, the workshop will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Wharton School’s Jon M. Huntsman Hall, 3730 Walnut St, Philadelphia.
Landry’s workshop uses the analogy that a monstrous footprint might be a bad thing to see in your backyard, but on the Web, a monstrous footprint is a great thing for your business. A business’ “digital footprint” is a way to describe the total number of places the business has appeared online, leaving tracks across the Internet landscape. The more tracks you leave, the more likely it is that customers searching for your type of business will find you.
“I’m thrilled to take part, for the second year in a row, in this annual effort to help minority-owned businesses grow,” said Landry, who is also a managing partner of the Marcom Alliance. “For a business to thrive in today’s digital world, it’s imperative to cultivate a strong online presence — a Bigfoot-sized digital footprint. I’m looking forward to sharing ways to achieve that goal.”
