Hollister Kids is a nationally honored creator and syndicator of education materials for students and teachers. Through Newspaper In Education programs across the country, Hollister Kids has delivered award-winning materials to schools in every state, including 48 of the 50 largest newspaper markets in the country. It has been honored 52 times in the national Distinguished Achievement competition of the Association of Educational Publishers and earned multiple regional awards. Written to meet state and national education standards, Hollister Kids materials address academic subjects, social issues, politics, science, technology and more. Themed packages include newspaper supplements targeted directly to students and teacher guides that give context and extension opportunities to classroom instruction. With newspaper sponsor partnerships, Hollister Kids also has created materials addressing academic needs through sports teams, cultural institutions and nonprofits.

Hollister writes, edits and designs this 8-page weekly newspaper distributed to children ages 6 to 12 in the Detroit Public Schools. A project of Michigan K.I.D.S. and Detroit Newspapers In Education, it is funded by the Skillman Foundation. Yak’s Corner supports literacy by engaging kids with high-interest articles supplemented by teaching points, activities, reading comprehension questions and quizzes.
