Detroit Science Center

Who they are
The mission of the Detroit Science Center is to inspire visitors to pursue and support careers in engineering, technology and science. Founded 30 years ago, it was among the first centers for scientific learning in the country to include an IMAX Dome Theatre. Located in the heart of Detroit's Cultural Center, the Science Center has attracted more than 2.1 million visitors since 2001, including thousands of school children from inner city Detroit and surrounding communities. What we do for them
Hollister Kids was chosen to create teaching materials to accompany the traveling exhibit "Leonardo Da Vinci: Man, Inventor, Genius" for the Detroit Science Center and Detroit Newspapers in Education. This program explored the life and times of the Renaissance scholar, scientist and artist in a 12-page, full-color supplement to the newspaper. The supplement won two AEP Distinguished Achievement Awards. Hollister Kids has created materials for the traveling exhibits "Accidental Mummies of Guanajuato," "Our Body: The Universe Within," "Space: A Journey to Our Future" and "The Science of Extreme Machines."

Why they like us
"The Detroit Science Center hosts many fun and entertaining traveling exhibitions. Hollister Kids helps us to reveal the science behind the fun, and underscores the educational value of these exhibits to teachers who are planning school field trips. Their Newspapers in Education supplements are an integral part of our school group marketing efforts and are a valuable tool in generating school group visits to the museum."
